The Petal 2 project was based on the Sakai online learning and collaboration environment, implementing the 'Portfolio' tool set. The projects aims to embed e-portfolio practice in five sites and disseminate knowledge to the wider JISC community about the use of e-portfolios in post compulsory education. The project also contributes to growing experience in the UK of issues concerning the development and deployment of Sakai tool sets.
e-Portfolio systems for the following sites were hosted by Knowledge Integration:

- Plumpton College
Petal 1 / OSP
Petal 2 is a continuation of the original Petal and MyWorld projects which were based around extending the software platform developed by the Open Source Portfolio Initiative (OSPI). this platform was subsequently subsumed by the Sakai environment.
An e-Portflio system for the following site, whilst part of the PETAL 2 project, currently uses the modified OSP 1.5 platform as its base:
